Flu season starts early — and could be bad After a mild round of flu last year, the Centers for Disease Control warns that the sickness season is off to an early start this year after cases have jumped in five southern states. "It's earlier this year, and it's more severe. This is going to be a tough flu season for us," says Dr. Ryan Shelton of Mecklenburg Medical Group - SouthPark.

Crisis Assistance Ministry Members from Mecklenburg Medical Group's management and administrative team rolled up their sleeves to volunteer at the Crisis Assistance Ministry as a part of the CHS Community Involvement Program. The Crisis Assistance Ministry is a non-profit agency that offers several programs including a Free Store where community members in need can select good-quality clothes and household items for their personal use - free of charge.

NC Music Factory 5k Rock 'N Run Mecklenburg Medical Group teamed up with the North End Partners for the first annual NC Music Factory 5k Rock 'N Run, a family-friendly race event held at the NC Music Factory campus. It was a great opportunity for us to get out and meet our neighbors in the North End Corridor. Several of our physicians and nursing staff joined in the fun - with special recognition going to David Miller, MD for placing 2nd in his age category. Congratulations Dr. Miller!
